Dr. Barış Biçer is a distinguished Naval Architect, engineer, and researcher whose career bridges advanced academic research and industrial innovation. With a PhD in Energy & Fluid Dynamics from Kobe University, Japan, and more than 17 years of combined industrial and academic experience, he is recognized as a leading global authority in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and thermal-fluid systems.
He has led groundbreaking work in multiphase flows, cavitation, bubble dynamics, aerodynamics, turbomachinery, and rotating machinery, providing high-fidelity simulation solutions to industries where precision, safety, and efficiency are critical. His expertise spans across naval & marine, aerospace, automotive, and electric motor technologies, where he has consistently delivered innovations that improve performance, reduce costs, and optimize reliability.
Dr. Biçer has not only advanced technical methodologies but also built and mentored high-performing teams. At Turkish Aerospace, he founded and directed the first Open-Source CFD Group, developing pioneering simulation methods that scaled to over 5000 CPU cores and contributed validated results to global research benchmarks like NASA’s High-Lift Prediction Workshop.
