Bunker Quantity Survey
Our senior consultants conduct BQS to accurately determine the quantity of fuel oils onboard at the time of bunkering, delivery/redelivery, or prior to the commencement of a charter period. These surveys are crucial for ensuring compliance with charter party terms, preventing bunker disputes, and safeguarding against potential fuel theft or misreporting, and ensuring:
- Charter party compliance: Verifies quantities to protect both owners and charterers
- Dispute prevention: Creates a defensible record for claims involving fuel shortages or quality issues
- Regulatory compliance: Ensures adherence to international fuel measurement and environmental standards
- Evidentiary value: Accepted by courts, P&I Clubs, and insurers as legally valid documentation
